The lyrics reference endemic abuses faced by young girls navigating hostile, unrestricted internet spaces in the 2000s, including doxxing on 4chan and grooming on MySpace. Reflecting on issues like suicidal ideation, self-harm, and body dysmorphia, the chorus captures the nihilistic despair of late-stage capitalism and self-commodification: “Monetize my suicide, I’m going live on your Wi-Fi to die tonight… capitalism is so abysmal.” The music video for Red Room transforms into the livestream itself, where fans pay for Fellatia G and Slaylonie’s “transgressions” while trolls cheer for their suicides. Fusing downtempo trip-hop with a haunting melodic chorus and aggressive, intricately woven wordplay, the song creates a cursed vibe—both unsettling and cathartic.
